Beda's Murals, Winter 2008

These small pieces were painted over the winter of 2008 under the supervision and inspiration of Beda Mahmoud, and Iraqi artist living with her husband and family in Amman Jordan. For a number of logistical reasons, Beda couldn't paint one large mural. Instead, they painted at her apartment, using roof outside as a studio when the weather permitted. The pieces are 30" x 30" canvas except for her horse painting which is larger.
Two of these small pieces: flag scene and another showing cartoon charaters of children flying kites (not shown here) became part of an exchange project mural, created in Syracuse NY as part of a Partners for Arts Education Grant, in New York State.
